Kate Hudson's jewelry

Posted by Keller & George at 3:00:00 AM in Slane (0)

One of the hallmarks of a signature jewelry is it's worn by a celebrity on a celebrated night. In the case of Slane, it got a good show when actress and presenter Kate Hudson wore Slane diamond earrings and diamond bracelet during this year's Golden Globes. Both earrings and bracelet are set in platinum. The earrings feature a 14.58-carat oval diamond and accented by pear-shape stones. On the other hand, the bracelet is studded with diamonds across its length. The Slane pieces (in partnership with Forevermark) seamlessly complemented Hudson's elegant and sensual full-length white dress. Elegant but subdued, the jewelry highlighted the actress' blonde hair and glowing skin. Similarly, you can wear a Slane diamond jewelry during formal evenings and elegant events for that glamour appeal.

Engagement ring trivia

Posted by Keller & George at 11:00:00 AM in Ball Watch (26)

Although we look at engagement today as romantic and highlighted by the luxurious ring (like a Precision Set), the history of engagement has its share of silly, if not weird, moments. Take for example in the first century BC, when sheiks and sultans used engagement ring to tag EACH of their wives. Further back in time, ancient Egyptians would bury their dead with rings of silver or gold on the third finger, which they believed was connected to the heart. Likewise, in 1217, the Salisbury bishop put an end to mock marriages using rings made of rushes by declaring engagement rings as legally binding. In the 1800s during the Victorian Age in England, people made jewelry including rings out of human hair for sentimental value, in the same manner that we treat today's engagement rings.

The Maestro

Posted by Keller & George at 3:00:00 AM in Raymond Weil (23)

Raymond Weil's Maestro is truly a collectible for signature watch hunters. It embodies the personality and charisma of the legendary Ol' Blue Eyes, Frank Sinatra. The watch has simple lines around the casing and its bevel, much like Sinatra's simple but melodious voice inflections. There's a sense of continuity in the lines, deliberately styled to evoke the singer's signature sassiness. Of course, what else should the deep blue dials and numerals represent? Likewise, the leather strap adds elegance that Sinatra was known for. Launched to commemorate the singer's 100th birthday, the Maestro is powered by an automatic movement with a 38-hour power reserve. The case is stainless steel, while the case back is snapped and features a sapphire crystal. As with other Raymond Weil watches, the crown is engraved with the signature ìRWî logo.
