Raymond Weil Shine Watch Captures Graceful Style

Posted by Keller & George at 2:52:03 PM in Raymond Weil (23)

With its 93 diamonds adorning this piece, the Shine watch by Raymond Weil is one of the most gorgeous and yet simplistically presented pieces of our time. At once brilliant in its sleek and minimal design, its 32mm case has a subtle, but beaming surprise. Along its rim, 81 of those diamonds frame a mother of pearl dial that is absolutely mesmerizing in every way. However, not only does the piece capture a timeless beauty, it also merges function and form. For instance, the sapphire crystal resists scratching, even as it glistens magnificently in the light. Its stainless steel case is enduring and reliable. Additionally, the piece is water resistant and built with quality in mind. Still, the 12 diamond indices make for the right match with the light touch of the date window, a welcome addition that doesn't overwhelm. However, the impressive clarity of the piece is counter-weighted against a natural and straightforward sophistication. With two bracelets, one in stainless steel and one in black, you'll never have to worry about versatility in your wardrobe. And because the diamonds are a generous .49 ct each, you also won't have to worry about being the center of attention, no matter what the occasion.

What’s more exclusive than expensive watches?

Posted by Keller & George at 8:00:00 AM in Raymond Weil (23)

How can you make your watch to stand out? Wearing a signature watch is one way, but others can also wear the same brand. Buying an expensive watch is another option, then again, expensive watches are a dime and dozen. If you really want to be wearing an exclusive watch, it doesn’t have to be the most popular signature or most expensive; it just have to be limited. For example, the Raymond Weil Nabucco Cuore Caldo Twelve has a limited production that not everyone will have the privilege to wear it, even if you’re super rich. Only 76 units have been manufactured, making this a collectible item. The design is bold and contemporary, backed by a history of precision movement and craftsmanship the brand is renowned for.

Tango, Tango

Posted by Keller & George at 3:41:55 AM in Raymond Weil (23)

Music evolves with the times and with the people. This is also true with Raymond Weil watches as music is the main inspiration for their designs. It is always an admirable feat to be able to find creative inspiration from other creative works and this is something that Raymond Weil does really well. With refined sensual lines, the Tango collection is a testament to this very skill and expertise. It's design evokes grace and elegance whilst exhibiting mastery in movement precision. The Tango collection is fortunately available for ladies and gentlemen. Various models mix both vigor and sensuality much like the kind of music it took its name after. Like music, the collection is expressed in many ways - modern, classical, relaxed and even round or rectangular cases. But with all that diversity, rhythmic perfection and extreme sensuality lies in its core.

The Maestro

Posted by Keller & George at 3:00:00 AM in Raymond Weil (23)

Raymond Weil's Maestro is truly a collectible for signature watch hunters. It embodies the personality and charisma of the legendary Ol' Blue Eyes, Frank Sinatra. The watch has simple lines around the casing and its bevel, much like Sinatra's simple but melodious voice inflections. There's a sense of continuity in the lines, deliberately styled to evoke the singer's signature sassiness. Of course, what else should the deep blue dials and numerals represent? Likewise, the leather strap adds elegance that Sinatra was known for. Launched to commemorate the singer's 100th birthday, the Maestro is powered by an automatic movement with a 38-hour power reserve. The case is stainless steel, while the case back is snapped and features a sapphire crystal. As with other Raymond Weil watches, the crown is engraved with the signature ìRWî logo.

Known as a brand of horological know-how tinged with the love for music, many of Raymond Weil‘s collections celebrate the works of musicians and artists, and are a reflection of refinement and the good life. A Long Storied Weil

Posted by Keller & George at 1:32:09 PM in Raymond Weil (23)

As one of the last independent family-ran watch companies in Geneva Switzerland, Raymond Weil has a proud history and a promising future. The brand is a name that defies gravity, even from the very time of its conception. Founder Raymond Weil, whose son-in-law Olivier Bernheim now heads the firm, established his eponymous company in 1976 just when most mechanical watch companies where closing doors as they soccumbed to the rolling tide of the quartz movement. The brand‘s persistence in entirely Swiss-made pieces and impeccably engineered designs, coupled with its thrust towards innovative classics, has earned it a clientele that grows with its years in the industry.

Understated Luxury

Posted by Keller & George at 2:00:55 AM in Raymond Weil (23)

Raymond Weil is one of those few watch companies from Geneve, Switzerland that remain flourishing after almost a century and a half of existence, and still believe in the honored craft of tradtional watchmaking. The Parsifal collection, first released by Raymond Weil in 1991, is the family-owned brand’s first stainless steel and 18k gold collection. It is named after Richard Wagner’s famous opera – a naming choice that reflects the Weil family’s attachment to classical music and refinement. Parsifal automatic chronographs and automatic date timepieces are crafted with outstandingly fine details, elaborate enough to be unmistakably stylish without being ostentatious. Their elegance is in their understated high-end appeal, coupled with excellent quality and solid make, making them the perfect watch trusted for the day to day wear and tear.

For a Lady with Attitude

Posted by Keller & George at 1:00:00 AM in Raymond Weil (23)

Raymond Weil shows its edgy contemporary side with its Automatic Open Balance Wheel Lady Urban Black timepiece. The Geneva-based family watchmaking company has long been esteemed as a maker of classic luxury timepieces with strong leanings towards classical music, arts and refinement. Proud of its history as one of the last family-owned Swiss watch brands, Raymond Weil is certainly one which knows the balance between changing with the times and remaining rooted in its foundational values. The Lady Urban Black has a 38 mm stainless steel case with grey PVD coating, and studded with 86 black diamond stones. The black shagreen-like strap, actually made of calf leather, adds an urban spunk to the modern ladies watch without losing the characteristic elegance and refinement of a Raymond Weil piece. The mechanical movement with automatic winding peeks out through an aperture at 12 o’clock in the dial, allowing a glimpse of the expert clockwork that goes on beneath the gem-studded surface. It is a watch for a lady with attitude.

Unconventional Sophistication

Posted by Keller & George at 12:25:00 PM in Raymond Weil (23)

It’s luxurious and designed in cushion cut, but it’s not diamond. The Raymond Weil Maestro Cushion dress watch is a sophisticated classic with a refreshing unconventional look. The Swiss made cushion cut timepiece comes in either a bold yellow gold case with black leather straps or a much subtler stainless steel case and bracelet. The dial is a textured silver with large Roman numerals and sunray gradient in the middle. Blue pomme hands add a dash of color and contemporary feel. An unobtrusive date dial sits at 3 o’clock without disrupting the flow of the dial’s design. Through the watch’s crystal case back, the Maestro Cushion displays its RW 4200 automatic movement, adding a point of interest to the already interesting cushion timepiece.

Not a Typical Story

Posted by Keller & George at 2:00:00 AM in Raymond Weil (23)

The Raymond Weil story is anything but typical. Watchmaker and music enthusiast Raymond Weil started his watch manufacturing company in 1976 at Geneva Switzerland, right at the time when the Swiss watch industry was taking a plunge due to the Quartz crisis. The eternal optimist, Raymond Weil saw glinting polished diamonds in the rough stone of the difficulty. He single-handedly weathered the Quartz storm and was later joined by his son-in-law Olivier Bernheim. Together they carved out a path for the company closely intertwined with their shared love for classic music and the good life. In the early 1980’s Raymond Weil launched Amadeus, in honor of the great master and in conjunction with Milos Forman’s world acclaimed film. The brand has honored many more artists since then, gaining worldwide success for precision and excellent quality in the process. As the third generation of Weil’s take over, Raymond Weil now remains strong as one of the last independent Swiss watch companies.

The New Maestro

Posted by Keller & George at 3:00:00 AM in Raymond Weil (23)

The Maestro Collection of Swiss watchmaking company Raymond Weil is a symbol of the brand’s craftsmanship roots and its main inspiration, excellent music. The tasteful  collection which debuted in 2010 had just gotten wider by a few new models released this year. The Maestro Phase de Lune Semainier is an attractive automatic moon phase watch that bears the classic look that is distinctively Weil. It sports a nifty 41.5mm stainless steel case that houses a distinguished-looking silver dial marked by Roman numeral indicators. The hands tick along regularly with their cool blue hue that contrast handsomely with the dial’s silver sheen. Also huddled under an anti-glare treated sapphire crystal are the watch’s key features such as the moonphase and the month, day and year calendars. Comfortable, elegant and functional, the Maestro Phase de Lune befits the man who is in control of the show.

Free-Spirited Sophistication

Posted by Keller & George at 3:00:00 AM in Raymond Weil (23)

The new Raymond Weil Freelancer Automatic Chronograph is relaxed and elegant, a fitting symbol for the persona behind the successful Swiss watch manufactory. Raymond Weil, who is a watchmaker, watch company founder and family patriarch lead the company to new heights and greater frontiers in the luxury watch industry, while remaining free from the big company mergers that overtook majority of the Swiss watch brands. Being independent allowed the Raymond Weil to follow its own unencombered course and keep its essential distinctions, such as its inclination towards fine living and even finer music. The brand’s latest Freelancer creation, with its elegant 42 mm steel case and black leather strap, is an ode to its free-spirited founder. The black dialled watch, with its multi-functionalities – including day and date function, 60-second, 30 minutes and 12-hour subdials – as well as striking red hands and indicator, is a model for the man who wants to assert his own style.

High Time for Classics

Posted by Keller & George at 10:00:10 AM in Raymond Weil (23)

Music is an integral part of Raymond Weil, family-owned Swiss watch company operating in Geneve since 1976. The brand’s first stint with music was in 1983 when it launched its Amadeus collection, named after the legendary Austrian composer Mozart, in conjunction with Milos Forman’s world acclaimed Amadeus film. The Fidelio collection, which featured subtle details and masterfully interlaced satin-finished and gold plated links, was launched in 1985 as a tribute to Beethoven’s only opera.  The Othello collection followed a year after, and since then the naming of new collections after famous music masterpieces became a solid Raymond Weil tradition. The signature Parsifal collection, named after Richard Wagner’s opera, bears a striking balance between harmonious balance and powerful valiant outlook that reminds of the opera’s young hero, Sir Perceval of King Arthur’s Court.  Take time to enjoy the marvels of classical music and art forms as your next Raymond Weil reminds you constantly of the works of the masters.

The Birthing Process of a Weil Watch

Posted by Keller & George at 8:00:00 AM in Raymond Weil (23)

Every Weil Watch starts out as a fascination over an idea or a thing of beauty. This inspiration is translated into a design on paper by the company’s creative team, after the technical aspects of the design process have also put into consideration. Then bits and pieces of precious materials such as gold or platinum cases, diamonds, fine details and hand-assembled movements, appear one by one. They are slowly and very meticulously assembled together by seasoned watch makers who use both traditional and innovative Swiss methods for creating much sought-after timepieces. The watches then go through the rigorous quality control measures to ensure their utmost performance and perfect aesthetics – the standard that comes with the “Swiss Made” inscription on their case -backs.

From the controlled environments of Weil’s workshops in Geneva, the watches find their way to the showrooms of selected dealers of the label all over the world – including Keller & George Jewelers in the United States – and then to the wrists of clients to become treasured personal possessions and future family heirloom.

The Passion of the Weils

Posted by Keller & George at 12:00:00 PM in Raymond Weil (23)

The Geneva-based company Raymond Weil is among the precious few Swiss watch brands that are still in family hands. It is run by 3 generations of the family, each of whom has his own expertise - accounting, advertising, management and international distribution strategy. All of them nevertheless have one passion aside from watches, which is music. The opera and classic music are so entrenched in the Weil (and Bernheim since Raymond’s daughter married) family that it is also a major part of the brand’s image. The Raymond Weil collections are mostly named after family members, or family-favorite operas and musicians. With names like Nabocco, Don Giovanni, Maestro and Tango, these timepieces and chronographs are dear to watch connoisseurs not only for the excellently engineered movements and complications or the elegant outward touches but also for the romantic aspect of good living that they represent. It is high time to revisit the splendor of the classics.

Swiss Watch Making Mastered

Posted by Keller & George at 8:40:56 AM in Raymond Weil (23)

The term “maestro” is an extremely respectful title bestowed on a master musician. This title, derived from the Italian language, is most commonly used in the fields of opera and Western classical music and indicates a musician’s superior knowledge. Raymond Weil’s Maestro collection suggests a similar level of mastery, this time in making watches. The collection also demonstrates Raymond Weil’s adherence to the time-honored traditions of Swiss watch making. Launched in 2010, it consists of both men’s and women’s luxury watches with authentic designs that combine precision with aesthetics. The collection’s timepieces and chronographs are available in both steel on steel and steel on leather designs. Maestro ladies' watches also come with diamonds that underline their elegance.
