Fashionable...for always

Posted by Keller & George at 4:00:00 AM in Suna Brothers (22)

It was 80 years ago when Joel and Kenneth Suna first ventured into the art of fine jewelry making from expert artisans in Europe by opening their own shop that gave birth to the now world-famous Suna line of jewelry. Since then, the company had produced nothing short of what women would want their jewelry pieces to be—never making any compromise with quality and elegance. The Suna Brothers began and perfected their skills by initially becoming diamond setters, bench jewelers as well as gemologists until they became expert jewelry makers with their own style, focusing only on highest-grade platinum and gemstones that provide the heart and soul of every Suna piece.  Each Suna jewelry adheres to a strict set of quality that transcends industry standards, with every Suna an alliance of long-held tradition of jewelry craft and modern sophisticated process to produce breath-taking designs that every woman would aspire to wear.

The Suna propositions

Posted by Keller & George at 9:00:00 AM in Suna Brothers (22)

Suna Bros. gives you five reasons why you should love the jewelry brand. First, Suna is tantamount to quality. The family behind the jewelry has withstood pressure to sell out to larger companies, while keeping their unwavering commitment to quality craftsmanship over high-net mass production. Second, Suna is synonymous to timeless elegance. Forget trends, when you buy a Suna you're getting a beautiful jewelry piece that you can pass on as an heirloom to the next generation and it will still be as lovely as the first time you've worn it. Third, each Suna piece is marked with the Suna logo, the karat metal mark, and a unique serial number. Fourth, it's one of a handful American brands that are still being manufactured one hundred percent in the U.S. And fifth, Suna has long-lasting relationships with retailers and gem dealers, which means you're taken care of across the company's supply chain.

Rarer than diamonds

Posted by Keller & George at 2:00:00 AM in Suna Brothers (22)

Contrary to popular belief, there are a few types of precious stones that are rarer than diamonds. One of those exceptions is the Zambian emerald. It was 1976 when geologists discovered this totally unique kind of emerald in Zambia, East Africa, whose crude crystals produced gems that are extremely pure that can be mistaken to be synthetic. Its bare, imbued greens have milder, sweeter color tones making it distinct from Brazilian and Colombian emeralds. It is only once in a while that there are bigger gems with better transparency and color which this emerald exudes. For Suna Bros., however, the Zambian emerald's sheer uniqueness doesn’t stop there. Well-known for its proclivity to go always go beyond the ordinary, Suna's 4.60ct Zambian emerald does not use any form of clarity enhancement—which preserves natural inclusions in emeralds—so what you get is simply raw beauty at its finest.

Genuine Craftsmanship

Posted by Keller & George at 9:00:00 AM in Suna Brothers (22)

A craft lies somewhere between art, which relies heavily on innate talent and technique, and science, which is based on acquired skill and knowledge. In this sense, jewelry making as Suna Brothers approaches it is indeed an admirable craft. The updated classic appeal of the pieces, which they call modern classics, relies heavily on the artistic talent and creativity of the jewelry making company’s artisans and designers. The excellent make, the consistent quality and the outstanding durability of these Suna jewels are upheld using the most modern technologies available today. The next time you see an evocative pink diamond brooch or an awesome necklace with an exotic pendant crafted by Suna Brothers, you can be sure that both the passion of art and the stringent standards of technology have both contributed to the beauty of the gem.

Posted by Keller & George at 10:00:00 AM in Suna Brothers (22)

Never Out of Style

Posted by Keller & George at 12:00:00 PM in Suna Brothers (22)

There are things that would never go out of style. In Suna Brothers alone, you would be surprised to find out how many years old some of the brand’s bestsellers are. The Lucky Star is Suna Brothers’ well-known ‘star fish’ design first launched in 1976 and is now one of the brand’s bestsellers and icons. Since then, the diamond studded golden star fish has grown in unwavering popularity, giving inspiration to a large family of starfish designs in different metals and jewelry forms – pins, pendants as well as earrings that are still mostly available today. Also hailing from that era are the brand’s line bracelets. Since the 1970’s the brand has been known for its fine line bracelets that take some considerable labor of love to handcraft. Cut gems are individually fitted into a die struck platinum box and then connected and finished by hand. They are just as popular now as in their first appearance almost half a century ago. Classic, indeed.

The Brothers and their Craft

Posted by Keller & George at 3:00:00 AM in Suna Brothers (22)

The Suna story began in Europe, when second generation jewelers Kenneth and Joel Suna founded the jewelry manufacturing company Suna Brothers. Trained as diamond setters, jewelers and gemologists, the brothers set out to craft modern-classic jewelry pieces that transcended the changing styles of the times. More than seventy years ago, Suna Brothers came to America and until now thrives in its New York City workshop, where seasoned artisans craft unique jewelry pieces from rare precious stones and fine metal alloys. With a manufacturing process that uses both old world techniques and modern technology, Suna Brothers is recognized as an outstanding jewelry manufacturer with numerous designs awards. Among the brand’s popular pieces are the pink diamond jewelry that bear natural pink diamonds from the deep recesses of Argyle Diamond Mine in East Kimberly, Australia.

From deep within the Argyle Mines of Western Australia comes a rare gem – a natural colored pink diamond. The Argyle pink diamond has densely packed graining planes that emanate a more saturated pink color than other pink diamonds found elsewhere in the world. It is for this very reason that Argyle pinks are the natural choice of Suna Bros. Drawing on their heritage of superb artistry and excellent craftsmanship, the designers, diamond setters, jewellers and gemmologists of Suna Bros work in accord to unveil the bewitching beauty of the natural color pink diamond, creating fabulous jewelry that the brand is famous for. The Platinum Diamond Leaf Bracelet is an exquisite example of Suna craftsmanship. Its design inspired by nature, the Platinum bracelet swirls with leaves set with brilliant diamonds and dainty flowers sparkling with the scintillating beauty of 60 pink diamonds.

Nature’s Strokes on Suna Brothers Canvas

Posted by Keller & George at 8:25:00 AM in Suna Brothers (22)

With Suna Brothers’ knack for creating unusual jewelry using rare stones, there is no telling what the brand’s next masterpiece is gonna turn out like. Except that it will be gorgeous, vibrant and totally modern-classic. Suna’s reputation in the jewelry making industry stemmed from its prolific use of precious stones like Burmese ruby, madiera citrine, Brazilian ruby, blue chalcedony and Rutilated quartz and tourmaline. One of Mother Nature’s most interesting pieces is the opal gem which captures hues and brilliant flecks like oil on canvass. Like the rough and allusive strokes of Monet’s impressionist paintings, Suna takes this natural work of art and turns it into a wearable masterpiece. In the brand’s New York City workshop, seasoned Suna jewelers design, craft and finish jewelry pieces using both traditional techniques and modern tools to draw out the beauty of these precious stones. The Suna ring with the opal central stone on platinum mounting holds a palette of emotions that reflects the wearer’s alternating dispositions.

Suna Brothers Plays with Blue Fire

Posted by Keller & George at 3:35:00 AM in Suna Brothers (22)

Suna Brothers prides itself with its unrivalled platinum mountings and selections of rare precious stones. Zircon is one of Suna Brothers’ rare pieces in its collections. This dazzling blue stone is now very difficult to come by. It is also often misunderstood and confused with the cubic zirconia, which is the manmade imitation diamond. Though the two stones may both bear some semblance to the diamond for their shine, zircon is one of the precious few gems that show visible dispersion and flashing rainbow fire when examined under light. The stone’s incredible sparkle is due to its innate optical characteristic known as double refraction which creates extreme scintillation. This unique characteristic earned it its nickname, “blue fire”.

Natural Pink Beauty

Posted by Keller & George at 9:22:35 AM in Suna Brothers (22)

Pink diamonds are one of the most expensive diamonds in the world due to their rarity. The creation of pink diamonds requires a precise set of conditions deep under the earth. These diamonds can be found in an array of colors, from apricot to red, with rarity increasing along with color intensity. Suna Bros. derives its natural color pink diamonds from the Argyle Diamond Mine in Australia’s East Kimberley region. Diamonds taken from this mine are more saturated than those found elsewhere in the world as these have densely packed graining planes that emit the pink color. Suna Bros.’ Pink Diamond Collection brings the singular beauty of natural color pink diamonds to the American market and beyond.
